In Memoriam: Joan P. Bills

WATERFORD Joan P. Bills, 86, of Washington Ave. died Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Edna Patnaude McAuliffe and was a graduate of Heatly High School in Green Island. Joan was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford.

She devoted her life to her husband and eight children. She taught life lessons to each of her children that are invaluable. Love one another, cherish your family and smile from your heart. She will live on in all of us and her love will be passed down for generations to come. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Alfred D. Bills; her loving children, Dennis A. Bills (Beverly) of Waterford, Kathleen Len (Dr. John) of Cohoes, Patricia Mahoney (Daniel), Barbara Lodge (Mark) of Clifton Park, Eileen Haldeman (Peter), Allison Sherwood (Richard), Alfred D. Bills Jr. (Therese) and Laura Burniche (Joseph) all of Waterford. Joan is the sister of Gerald McAuliffe (Linda) of Hawaii and the late Robert McAuliffe. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
